25. When can I return to work?
Desk-based work may be possible earlier if the foot can be elevated and travel is manageable. Standing, clinical, driving or physical work generally requires longer. A staged return is often more realistic than one fixed date.
26. When can I wear normal shoes?
After the wound and bone have progressed sufficiently and the surgeon approves transition. Begin with a stable, wide and deep shoe with adjustable fastening. Narrow or high-heeled footwear should not be forced while swelling persists.
27. When can I return to sport?
Low-impact conditioning usually precedes running, jumping and cutting sports. Progression depends on healing, strength, joint movement, gait and swelling. Published group averages cannot guarantee an individual return date.
